Miami Florist Mayelin Alfonso of ‘May Crazy Bloom Flower Shop’ Secures Second Place in DealMagik’s National Floral Design Contest

Based in Miami, Florida, Alfonso’s entry, titled “Falling Leaves,” was selected from a competitive pool of florists and design professionals nationwide. The contest serves as a celebration of artistry and seasonal storytelling, judged by returning expert Lindsey Vandevier, Owner and Lead Designer of Rosaspina Floral and Event Design in Montclair, NJ.
Artistry in “Falling Leaves”
Alfonso’s design was lauded by the judges for its bold aesthetic and technical execution. The piece stood out for its ability to capture the essence of the season through a “wild-harvest” lens, blending organic movement with a sophisticated color story.
“This piece earns second place for its rich, moody palette and expressive, wild-harvest style, both of which deliver unmistakably seasonal appeal,” the judging panel remarked. “The designer demonstrates a strong command of form, color, and texture.”
As the second-place winner, Mayelin Alfonso will be awarded a $300 cash prize. She will also be featured on the DealMagik blog in 2026, where her entrepreneurial journey and contributions to the floral industry will be highlighted for a national audience.
